Biography
Living in the North Pennines has given me an opportunity to become familiar with this inspiring place and this has clearly influenced much of my work.
My Work
People say my work is recognisable but I have an idea that it is rather too varied to have established a ‘Brand’.
Over the past twenty five years I have produced a variety of illustrative drawings and paintings including portraits of people, buildings and animals some of which have been quite detailed others tending to abstraction.
In the main though I’d say my work is about landscapes, including buildings - I have had a fascination with abandoned places that are remnants of an industrial past. I aim to make paintings that are energetic and colourful and to capture impressions of the character and atmosphere of Northern Britain.
